Anniversary Greetings
Dear Readers,
Today marks one year since the public launch of About the Artist on September 1, 2010.
Much has happened during the past twelve months. Articles and other pages on the website were together viewed more than 5,000 times. The Maverick and the Champion, my book about artistry and style in the world of music, hit the presses in January.
These are all significant accomplishments, but as the website prepares to enter its second year, I am most pleased to present a number of new and updated features:
- ON THE HOMEPAGE you will discover a fresh welcome message as well as a link to The Master At Work, a new 6-page introduction to many of the basic ideas that About the Artist explores.
- “ABOUT THIS ARTIST” now offers an updated profile of the website’s founder.
- THE ARTICLES PAGE includes a new way to navigate the dozens of articles in the About the Artist archives: “Browse by Topic” displays an organized list of core concepts linked to related articles.
Additional new material is coming soon, including a series of concise Basics articles and an enticing welcome video on the homepage.
Most importantly, About the Artist would never have gotten this far had it not been for the loyal support of you—the readers—since day one. Many thanks!

Great job—CONGRATULATIONS!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your new Introduction and your Anniversary article. Has it been only a year? About the Artist has been an important part of my life and I have learned so much from it. I feel like I have been involved with this website for a long time. It has been so rich and full of knowledge on a topic that I hold dear to my heart. I love your new format and the easy access to review or learn for the first time, your wonderful articles pertaining to the many different forms of art and the artist’s struggles and triumphs that he will endure through the process. I eagerly look forward to your articles in the upcoming months. Happy Anniversary!
Thanks for the red velvet cake (yummy!) and for all the updates. I enjoy your thoughts about art and look forward to future articles. Best wishes for another successful year!
